Eveready Powers Measurable Benefits with RedPrairie TMS
January 31, 2003 - Waukesha WI/Westlake OH – Eveready Battery Co., Inc., a subsidiary of Energizer Holdings, Inc. (NYSE:ENR) announced increasing and measurable freight cost savings and performance benefits through its continued utilization and expansion of its Transportation Management System (“TMS”) from RedPrairie Corporation, powering its successful centralized Corporate Load Center, based in Westlake OH.
Eveready has been a RedPrairie TMS client since April 2001, beginning on a subscription program for the TMS as hosted by Eveready and tailored to needs of their business. Through collaboration between the firms, the TMS solution program was enhanced and expanded and Eveready exercised its option to acquire a perpetual software license for the RedPrairie TMS in September, 2002. To date, Eveready has met or exceeded its savings objectives through use of the TMS in managing its network of distribution centers and contract packagers and its time-critical LTL, TL (including multi-stop TL, and optimized TL and LTL bundling programs) and parcel using the RedPrairie solution program.
David Gomski, Corporate Manager of Domestic Transportation for Eveready, says that “the RedPrairie TMS has been a vital part of our success in significantly improving our freight costs and service levels”, adding that “we are also now working with RedPrairie on bringing the benefits of their latest software releases to our firm”.
Rod Strata, TMS Business Unit President for RedPrairie states that “We are pleased to continue our long term relationship with Eveready as a center of innovation and a key success story in use of our TMS solution in complex logistics environments.”
The principals of Shippers Commonwealth brought this client to RedPrairie and handle ongoing account relations with this client in partnership with RedPrairie.
