RedPrairie™ Transportation Roars Ahead While Others Stuck in Reverse

Leading TMS Company Reports New Clients, Further ASP Success, New implementations and Major New Functionality Despite Difficult Economy

July 9, 2002 - Waukesha, WI - RedPrairie™ Corporation (formerly McHugh Software International), the leading provider of real-time, end-to-end logistics solutions, announced today that while its competitors have reported reduced sales, layoffs and even shut downs, RedPrairie's transportation business has had strong success on many fronts. Among these successes are significant wins at General Cable, Johns Manville, Nutricia (GNC and Rexall), Metro Canada and Sony Electronics. RedPrairie's TMS ASP partner, Shippers Commonwealth, has also added Field Container and Stage Stores as accounts. These wins all came in head-to-head competition with major TMS competitors and despite the most difficult economy for software vendors in many years. RedPrairie reports an extensive pipeline of additional TMS accounts as well.

"We’re surging ahead because we have the best people and products and an unwavering focus on creating value for our customers, guaranteed."
John Jazwiec - Company Results Leader, RedPrairie

RedPrairie has established powerful market momentum in transportation, as we have with the rest of our DigitaLogistix™ suite of real-time logistics solutions,” commented John Jazwiec, RedPrairie Company Results Leader. “With a strong new management and sales team headed by Rod Strata, who led the dynamic growth of i2’s transportation business, and the leading-edge technology in the upcoming release, we are delivering proven solutions and achieving results our competitors can’t match.”

RedPrairie has demonstrated unparalleled success in automating North America’s largest load control centers for outbound transportation planning and execution such as Nestle and Georgia-Pacific. Johns Manville will soon join these ranks, as will Metro Canada, the largest 3PL in Canada. Stage Stores will confirm RedPrairie’s prowess in centralized inbound transportation planning and execution for the retail industry. These in-progress implementations will come on the heels of recent successful roll-outs at Eveready and SCA Tissue.

Within weeks RedPrairie will be announcing general availability of release 6.0 of its industry leading DLx® Transportation system which adds substantial new capabilities that will dramatically change how companies can dynamically manage transportation planning and execution, driving down logistics costs and improving customer service and satisfaction.

Said Rod Strata, RedPrairie Transportation Results Leader, “Our increasing momentum in transportation reflects growing market awareness that in difficult economic times, the tremendous potential for cost savings and improved customer service through automated transportation planning and execution are even more critical. Together with our swift implementation ability, singular focus on achieving results customer by customer and the dynamic capabilities of our new release, our TMS has become the solution of choice for large and medium-sized shippers across all industries.”

While the overall software market has struggled in this economy, Transportation Management Systems (TMS) have been one of the few bright spots,” said Adrian Gonzalez, Senior Analyst, Supply Chain and Logistics for ARC Advisory Group. “RedPrairie is not a newcomer to this space, but its renewed focus on TMS is creating positive momentum. The hiring of Rod Strata, its recent customer wins, and the company's upcoming 6.0 release will certainly strengthen RedPrairie's position in the market.”

RedPrairie’s impressive transportation results are part of broader company success as shown by the company’s earlier reported first quarter financial numbers, including substantial growth in software licenses and total revenue, and recent additions of key executives from competitors such as Strata from i2 and Susan Rider from Manhattan Associates. Said Jazwiec, “We’re surging ahead because we have the best people and products and an unwavering focus on creating value for our customers, guaranteed.”
