Four Seasons Launches New Transportation Management System with Shippers Commonwealth
July 14, 2003 - Lewisville, TX/Richmond, VA - Four Seasons, a division of Standard Motor Products, Inc and the leading provider of temperature control parts for the automotive aftermarket, has announced the successful initial launch of its state-of-the-art Transportation Management System ("TMS") from Shippers Commonwealth, the leading TMS solutions provider.
The new TMS is now in initial production use for inaugurating optimal shipment planning and automated execution of inbound and return shipment processing, and will soon be extended to outbound shipments and freight payment. The transportation system for Four Seasons from Shippers Commonwealth, as powered by the renowned RedPrairie (formerly McHugh) TMS, has been extended for real time collaboration with suppliers and carriers using the Shippers Commonwealth Inbound Logistics Portal.
This Portal has now been further advanced by Shippers Commonwealth in collaboration with Four Seasons to accommodate customer returns (reverse logistics) in addition to supplier inbounds, stackability, part number level tracking on shipment routing requests, and Bill of Lading & Return Goods Authorization automated form processing. The Portal is fully integrated with the complete TMS, providing Four Seasons with a complete enterprise solution for optimal mode determination, load consolidation, and carrier assignment, as well as Web and EDI enabled tendering and tracking. The benefits to Four Seasons include significant operating efficiencies and improved visibility for plant operations (inbounds) and the best in delivery and service to Four Seasons customers.
