Shippers Commonwealth Portal Solution Program Expands Services for Over 850 Vendors Now On Line
June 2, 2003 - RICHMOND, VA - Shippers Commonwealth, the leading provider of comprehensive automated transportation planning and management systems, is pleased to announce that its Inbound Vendor Logistics Portal is now in active production use at over 850 vendors in four high volume client accounts. The Portal has now been further enhanced to provide for returns processing and outbound shipment routing requests, in addition to its established prowess in managing inbound shipment routing requests as part of a complete Transportation Management System (TMS) solution.
"We are pleased at the rapid deployment and exceptional market demand for our Logistics Portal program", says Philip Cooper, VP Operations for Shippers Commonwealth.
Sarah Edge, Manager of Implementation & Support Services, comments that "our program has proven to be feature rich yet easy to deploy, and now expanded to handle stackability, electronic bills of lading and returns forms, and multi- modal freight processing for inbound, outbound, and reverse logistics".
"We now have firm bookings in place from new clients to further expand this powerful solution to over 2,000 vendors over the next 3 months alone", adds Robert Shagawat, President of Shippers Commonwealth, noting that "our clients and their inbound suppliers are realizing significant savings from the Portal and TMS program, via automated consignee control of freight, inbound consolidation including multi-vendor sweeps, and locking in carrier capacity for reloads and continuous move opportunities".
The Portal was launced last summer by Shippers Commonwealth at Stage Stores, Inc, and has been rapidly expanded to use at multiple clients throughout North America.
