Sonoco Corporate Transportation TMS Program Wins Enterprise Award for Excellence

The Sonoco Corporate Logistics team recently received the prestigious Customer Satisfaction Through Excellence (CTSE) Award for the successful implementation of the Transportation Management System (TMS) from Shippers Commonwealth. Sonoco’s (NYSE: SON) Corporate Transportation Center (CTC) team realized significant benefits from the enterprise-wide centralized automation program which led to this award.
The CSTE Awards were established by Sonoco to recognize the accomplishments of teams that distinguish themselves through outstanding contributions and excel in quality, service, innovation, creativity and cost-effectiveness. Recipients of the award represent the "best of the best," exemplify the spirit of teamwork and embody innovation, integrity, and a total commitment to excellence needed to be successful in the competitive global market.
The Sonoco Corporate Transportation Center launched the TMS program with Shippers Commonwealth in first quarter 2005, and the team has successfully expanded the shipment planning optimization and execution system across multiple Sonoco business units utilizing centralized automated Load Center management. Actual benefits attained to date have exceeded ROI projections, and the company has improved service levels, increased visibility and efficiency.
